Our extra virgin olive Oil D.O.P. Chianti Classico
The farm produces extra virgin olive oil of excellent quality. The chemical and organoleptic characteristics of our oil exceed in quality the most rigid parameters required by the regulations in force.
The production area is that of the tableland of Monti in Chianti. Its altitude ranges from 380 to 500 m above see level (about 1246 ft – 1640 ft). The olive groves cover 30 hectares (87 acres) and have about 5.000 olives trees. They grow on a soil of medium consistency with a base of calcareous clay and a substantial portion of crumbled stone.
Some olive groves are centuries old, whereas some are younger (one decade or more). They are regularly renewed because of the cyclical frosts. Half of them grow on terraces, whereas the rest grow on natural hills (semi-specialised cultivation) with a density ranging from 50 to 200 trees per hectare.
On average we produce about 6.000 lt per year.
